On September 9, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area (SDPFTZ Qingdao Area) and the Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark held an international economic and trade cooperation matchmaking event, aiming to build a communication platform, accurately match supply and demand, and promote industrial cooperation. Gao Shanwu, Deputy Secretary of the Qingdao West Coast New Area Working Committee, Director of the SDPFTZ Qingdao Area Management Committee, and Director of the Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark Management Committee, attended and addressed the event. Nearly 100 delegates from 15 countries, including Germany and Saudi Arabia, participated.

Since the beginning of this year, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) has closely focused on its core mission of serving the real economy. It has pioneered a new inclusive financial system featuring the integration of digital empowerment, service platform, and policy guidance. Through initiatives such as deep integration of data intelligence, dual-track online and offline services, and targeted implementation of the free trade loan assistance program, the zone has injected strong momentum into the continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of financial services and promoted high-quality development.

Recently, Jiushi Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. in the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) completed the registration of its capital increase, raising its registered capital from RMB 1.35 billion to RMB 2.1 billion.

SDPFTZ Qingdao Area hosted a trade financing symposium on August 21 to improve financial services, ease funding constraints, and upgrade trade industries. Gao Shanwu, Deputy Secretary of Qingdao West Coast New Area Work Committee and Director of SDPFTZ Qingdao Area Management Committee, attended the meeting.

On August 12, the front page of People's Daily highlighted Qingdao, which has seized the initiative in development through proactive opening-up. The report commended the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) for continuously expanding institutional opening-up and effectively nurturing a pilot ground for opening-up.

On August 8, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) successfully hosted the "Summer of Chip & Chain" event. With the theme "Chip and Chain Synergy, Chip and Machine Coordination," this initiative aims to accelerate the integrated development of Qingdao's integrated circuit industry chain and implement strategies for chain extension, supplementation, and strengthening. Over 100 guests from governmental, corporate, and financial sectors convened to jointly explore the future of the integrated circuit industry.

On July 31, the 5th Promotion Event for Foreign Business Investment Attraction, themed "Promoting Urban Industrial Innovation and Enhancing Local Economic Momentum" and hosted by the Global Times, convened in Beijing. Approximately 500 participants attended, including representatives from national ministries and commissions, local governments, think tanks, business associations, and corporations. At the conference, China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) and Qingdao SinoGerman Ecopark were recognized as the "2025 Industrial Park of Excellence in Investment Attractiveness" and the "2025 Industrial Park of Excellence in Investment Environment," respectively.

Recently, Greatwall Strategy Consultants (GEI) released the "GEI China Unicorn Enterprise Research Report 2025", highlighting that a total of 10 companies in Qingdao made the unicorn enterprise list. Located in the Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, COSMOPlat Institute of Industrial Intelligence (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. and Qingdao KingAgroot CropScience Group Co., Ltd. successfully appeared on the list.

On July 17, the 2025 Asia Pacific (Shandong) Advanced Semiconductor Industry Exchange Conference was successfully held in Qingdao under the theme "Innovation-Driven · Ecosystem Collaboration · Win-Win Future." Over 100 experts, scholars, and corporate representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions gathered to discuss key technologies in the semiconductor industry, share development ideas, and exchange innovative experience.
