Deepen Efforts in Building International Standardization —The Second ISO Regional Workshop of 2025 Kicks off in SDPFTZ Qingdao Area
On December 2, the second ISO regional workshop of 2025 opened in the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short). The workshop brought together 22 participants from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as those from relevant Chinese companies and research institutes. Ji Xiaolong, head of the Working Committee and Management Committee of the SDPFTZ Qingdao Area, Zhang Baolin, representative of the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), and ISO representatives Stephane Mottaz and Tharun Thomas attended the event and delivered speeches.

$363 Million in Intended Procurement Secured! China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area Leads a Delegation to the 8th China International Import Expo
The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area") organized a delegation comprising 120 procurement enterprises and 335 professionals to participate, securing intended procurement of $363 million—its highest procurement value achieved by the SDPFTZ Qingdao Area delegation in the history of its participation.

Recently, the 2025 World Cities Day China Observance was held in Chongqing. During the concurrent Mayors' Forum on High-Quality Urban Development in the New Era (2025 · Chongqing), Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark was recognized for its outstanding practice in green development and included in the 2025 China International Eco-City Development Research and Outlook report, serving as a forward-looking, practical example for international eco-city development.

From October 20 to 25, Gao Shanwu, Deputy Secretary of the Qingdao West Coast New Area Working Committee, Director of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) Management Committee, and Director of the Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark Management Committee, led a delegation to Germany and France for targeted exchanges and project promotion activities. The delegation earnestly implemented Chinese President Xi Jinping's important instructions on the development of pilot free trade zones, promoting project investment attraction and international economic and trade cooperation with a focus on further expanding high-level opening-up.

The two parties held in-depth discussions regarding the establishment of a Qingdao representative office of CCIRC and officially signed a memorandum of cooperation. On October 15, China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area ("SDPFTZ Qingdao Area" for short) hosted a lecture titled "Intelligent Standards, Quality for the Future" to drive quality development through standard digitization and intelligence. By providing a platform for government-enterprise dialogue, the area enabled local enterprises to stay informed about trends in standard digitization and intelligence, enhance their core competitiveness, and advance regional industrial upgrading and quality development through high standards. The event brought together experts in standardization and representatives from over 30 leading standardization enterprises in the area.
