
On February 24th, the second meeting of the Council of Qingdao-Europe Advanced Institute for Life Sciences (QEI) was held in BGI North Center, which is located in Qingdao Free Trade Zone • Sino-German Ecopark. The second batch of doctoral students of life science jointly trained by Qingdao and Europe have been officially enrolled. As the first international, open and high-level talent training and industry incubation platform featured by integration of industry-university-research cooperation in Qingdao Free Trade Zone, QEI will accelerate the promotion of international cooperation and make the plan of new measures for future life science technology R&D and industry incubation.
Representatives including YANG Huanming, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, co-founder, director and chairman of BGI Group, XU Xun, Executive Director of BGI Group, Dean of Shenzhen BGI Life Sciences Research Institute, Lars Bolund, Professor of Aarhus University in Denmark, Sir of the Royal Flag of Denmark, First-Class Duke, winner of Certificate of Friendship issued by Chinese Government, and those of relevant council units attended the meeting.
After the meeting, under the witness of all the directors, QEI held an enrollment ceremony for the second batch of doctoral students and issued letters of appointment to the doctoral supervisors.

In the future, QEI will continue to play a leading role as an innovation platform, comprehensively promote the development of the global life science industry and international exchanges and cooperation, continuously realize institutional innovation in the fields of high-level talent training, cutting-edge technology R&D, achievement transformation and application, and international cooperation.
