The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development formally approved recommending Sino-German Ecopark to apply for the “2019 12th Dubai International Award for Best Practices” (“DIABP” for short) recently after review and selection, to compete for the “Dubai International Award for Best Practices” on behalf of China.
It is known that the Dubai International Award for Best Practices, an important achievement of the Dubai Declaration, was established by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and the Government of Dubai of the United Arab Emirates at an UN international conference held in Dubai in 1995. It aims at rewarding the projects with outstanding contributions to the improvement of human habitation conditions and sustainable development. DIABP is selected once every two years, and divided into five categories, including “urban renewal and public space”, “construction of sustainable, innovative and intelligent buildings”, “sustaining the urban food system”, “coping with climate change and reducing pollution” and “urban infrastructure planning and management”. A total of 10 winning projects will be selected in each DIABP. “Award for Best Practices to Construct New Sustainable Smart Buildings” is devoted to seeking for projects which provide sustainable, innovative and smart solutions to developing intelligent buildings, and aims at restricting the environmental impact of building construction, improving human health and boosting the achievement of sustainable development goals. The 12th Dubai International Award for Best Practices will be awarded in Expo Dubai 2020 in November 2020.
