On February 5, Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone held a special conference on economic development  in 2020. The conference was presided over by Zhu Tieyi, the Director of the Administrative Committee, and attended by Xu Haijie, the Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee, as well as heads of departments and companies of the Zone.

According to the conference, it is a special time to fight against the epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus. Fighting the epidemic is a tough battle, while economic development is a protracted one. Great importance must be attached to both battles at present and also in the long run. We should not only protect the health of our staff, but also ensure the sound development of economy.

In 2020, the Zone will continue to focus on economic development, hold firmly to the key element of investment, carry out major projects, and implement the new round of “2030” plan, in which 20 projects will be completed and put into operation, and 30 will be commenced. With steady growth of high-quality investment, in 2020, we will strive to have more than 18 industrial enterprises above the designated size in the Zone, and guarantee that the output value will continue to double to reach RMB 14 billion. We will ensure that the total tax revenue will rapidly grow to RMB 1 billion for the whole year.
