On June 9, 2022, in the first emerging industry park of Qingdao - Qingdao Integrated Circuit Industrial Park, the first batch of 10 key projects with a total investment of 20.1 billion yuan have started construction, which are located in Qingdao Free Trade Zone/Sino-German Ecopark. Leaders from Shandong Province, Qingdao City, Qingdao West Coast New Area, Qingdao Free Trade Zone, and Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark have attended the ceremony.

Qingdao Integrated Circuit Industrial Park is located in the area of Qingdao Free Trade Zone and Sino-German Ecopark. It is one of the first batch of high-level specialized industrial parks  planned and constructed by Qingdao at municipal level. The total planned land area of the park is about 3,000 mu, which mainly implements “Six Ones”, namely one base, one area, one center, one platform, one batch of projects, and No.1 class facilities. In 2022, every effort will be made to build the "Three Thousand" park: Starting the construction of an industrial park of 1,000 mu, starting construction of a talent community of 1,000 mu, and attracting thousands professional industrial talents, making all the efforts to bring in leading enterprises and key supporting enterprises, implementing key breakthroughs, and catching up across generations.

Representatives of integrated circuit industry chain enterprises, including Lin Zhengkun, Deputy General Manager of Sien (Qingdao) Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd., Gerhard Teschl, Executive President of Diehl Electronics Asia Pacific, and Guan Jianpeng, Head of Semiconductor Advanced Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Company in Qingdao Free Trade Zone spoke on the spot.

In the two years since Qingdao Free Trade Zone was approved for operation, the import and export of foreign trade and the actual utilization of foreign capital have doubled in two years; 23,900 new corporate entities have been founded, 1.4 times the total before its establishment, and the corporate activity degree is 86.2%. There are 45 more Fortune 500 projects, and the number has reached 143 in the whole region.

Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark always adheres to the principal of “Industries establish a park, and projects develop it”. It strives to cultivate and develop new industries such as integrated circuits, advantageous industries such as smart home appliances, and future industries such as genetic technology. Leading projects such as Electronic Information Industrial Park, BGI, Qingyuan, Zhengda pharmaceuticals, Continental of Germany, and Haier smart factory have completed construction and been put into production one after another.
