National Economic and Technological Development Zones Green Development Alliance was established in August 2016 under the guidance of the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Commerce by 36 National Economic and Technological Development Zones in cities including Suzhou, Tianjin and Beijing, which play a leading role in green innovation, transformation and upgrade. Following the principle of “guided by the government and led by the market, engage in equal-footed consultation, promote innovation and cooperation, leverage complementary advantages, seek mutual benefit and all-win outcomes”, the alliance builds five platforms for national economic development zones including the green development information service platform, the green industry investment and financing service platform, and the green innovation international cooperation and exchanges platform, so as to promote communication, cooperation and mutual learning in green, low-carbon and circular development between national economic development zones, and facilitate joint effort in green tech innovation, industrial structure optimization and adjustment, and transformation and upgrade for innovative development.

At the qualification review, the experts of National Economic and Technological Development Zones Green Development Alliance  unanimously agreed that Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone meets the requirements of entry, has distinctive international features and boasts significant accomplishments in planning and construction. This year marks the 10th anniversary of China’s approval for establishment of international cooperation ecoparks. Joining the alliance will further enhance the influence of Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone and help promote its high-quality green development, especially help to promote its replicable best practices across China.
