On July 17, the 2025 Asia Pacific (Shandong) Advanced Semiconductor Industry Exchange Conference was successfully held in Qingdao under the theme "Innovation-Driven · Ecosystem Collaboration · Win-Win Future." Over 100 experts, scholars, and corporate representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions gathered to discuss key technologies in the semiconductor industry, share development ideas, and exchange innovative experience.
Sui Bin, Member of the Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Shi Ying, Secretary-General of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovative Alliance and Secretary-General of the China Semiconductor Industry Association Supporting Industry Branch, and Meng Xiangjiu, Secretary-General of the Shandong Semiconductor Industry Association, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Lu Wengao, Director of the Department of Integrated Circuit Design and Associate Dean of the School of Integrated Circuits at Peking University, and other guests attended the conference.
The conference focused on key topics such as cutting-edge semiconductor technologies, industry policies, and supply chain resilience. It featured three main sections: the main forum, closed-door industry symposiums, and supply and demand matchmaking meetings. Held alongside the event, the 2025 Asia-Pacific International Semiconductor Technology and Application Exhibition attracted more than 50 leading companies in the industry, inclding Qingdao SRI I Intellectual Technology Co., Ltd. The exhibition showcased the latest technological achievements and application cases in the semiconductor field, offering participants ample opportunities for exchange and cooperation.
The semiconductor industry is a pioneering, foundational, and strategic sector that underpins the development of the modern economy and society. It is also a driving force behind the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. According to reports, since its establishment over a decade ago, the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovative Alliance has brought together more than 200 enterprises, covering the full spectrum of semiconductor materials. The alliance has played a key role in advancing domestic technological capabilities and promoting collaborative development across the industry chain. Shandong Province has identified the semiconductor industry as a critical engine for transforming and upgrading its economic growth drivers. With a solid industrial foundation, diverse application scenarios, and strong policy support, the province is accelerating the development of a collaborative and innovative ecosystem for industrial chains. Qingdao places great emphasis on the development of the integrated circuit industry, listing it as the top priority among the city's ten emerging industries and a key pillar of its "10+1" innovation-driven industrial system. The city is actively building a collaborative development framework for the integrated circuit industry, centered around the Qingdao Integrated Circuit Industry Park.
This exchange conference brought together the world's top scientific research institutions, leading enterprises and industry experts. Through high-level dialogues, technical discussions, achievement showcases, and business matchmaking, it aimed to accelerate innovation in advanced semiconductor technologies and foster ecosystem collaboration, empowering win-win cooperation across the global industrial chain. At the same time, it is expected to broaden new horizons for the development of Qingdao's integrated circuit industry and drive higher-quality, higher-level growth for the sector in both Qingdao and Shandong Province.
Since its inauguration in November 2022, the Qingdao Integrated Circuit Industry Park has focused on high-end, intelligent, green, and clustered development. Guided by technological innovation and committed to cultivating new quality productive forces, the park has seen continuous growth in the scale of its integrated circuit industry and steady increases in output value. Qingdao City Construction Investment (Group) Co., Ltd., as a key municipal state-owned enterprise, has deeply participated in the development of the industry park, and worked with the area special team to jointly promote forward-looking research on park planning, professional carrier investment and development, industrial joint investment promotion, special fund construction and other work. These efforts have led to the successful introduction and production of key chain enterprises represented by Qingdao SRI I Intellectual Technology Co., Ltd. To date, the park has attracted 46 upstream and downstream projects along the industry chain, with a total investment of approximately RMB 180.3 billion. It covers the full industrial spectrum, including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, materials, and equipment. The park ranks 17th on the "Top 30 Integrated Circuit Parks in China" list and has helped propel Qingdao to 81st place on the "Top 100 Cities with Comprehensive Competitiveness in the Global Integrated Circuit Industry" list.
