Since its inception in 2013, Sino-German Ecopark has been making plans for developing the football industry. It has built the German Football Base in Asia, with a view to bringing in internationally competitive institutions so that the football industry of China can better integrate into that of the whole world, and a football industrial chain that covers international cooperation, industrial integration, scientific and technological research service, training service, event service, etc., can be created.

In 2015, Sino-German Ecopark and German Football Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement to introduce the German youth football training system. In 2016, Sino-German Ecopark and FC Bayern Munchen signed cooperation agreement on establishing the first FC Bayern Munchen football school in China. In November 2016, during Vice Premier of the State Council Liu Yandong’s visit to Germany, Sino-German Ecopark was invited to a meeting attended by the Vice Premier as a model of China-Germany football cooperation. In 2017, German Football Base in Asia won the titles of National Youth Campus Football Coach Training Base and Shandong Campus Football Training Camp. In 2018, the scale and quality of Stars Training Camp, coach training programs and campus football summer camp programs improved. In 2019, Sino-German Ecopark won such awards as Excellent Campus Football Organization Award. Its outstanding contribution to football is officially recognized again. Sino-German Ecopark has reached new highs for 5 consecutive years with dedication.

Sino-German Cultural Exchange Summit

FC Bayern Qingdao Football School is jointly run by German Football Base in Asia and FC Bayern. A team led by UEFA German coaches with A certificate is in charge of daily training at the school. Klaus Augenthaler, Legendary captain of FC Bayern and member of the champion team at 1990 World Cup visited the base in October 2017 and gave guidance both in theory and in practice to coaches at the Qingdao School. Legendary scout and football star Egon Coordes visited the base in April 2018 and gave guidance both in theory and in practice to coaches at the Qingdao School. Legendary Bayern forward Giovane Elber, the public face of FC Bayern, was present at 2019 FC Bayern Youth Cup China Final and gave specialized guidance to players.

Moreover, the base is carrying out football education and concentrated training for students at primary, middle and high schools in the whole city. In recent years, it has reached out to preschool kids by conducting pilot programs at multiple kindergartens in the district. An advanced children football teaching model has been created. During summer and winter vacations, the base hosts youth summer/winter camps regularly so that the youngsters can get German training without traveling abroad.

Summer Camp

As of August 2019, the base successfully held nearly 1400 events including FC Bayern Youth Cup China Final. It also hosts football training and campus football programs sponsored by CFA, Ministry of Education and other organizations on a long-term basis. Over 11,000 student players, nearly 4,000 coaches and 500 referees from 31 Chinese provinces and cities and from 10 plus countries have been trained here.
