Sino-German Ecopark Shared Green and Low-Carbon Development Experience on behalf of Qingdao with Sister City in New Zealand

On Sep. 22th, Qingdao Foreign Affairs Office and Dunedin City of New Zealand jointly organized a video exchange meeting on the theme of "Green and Low-Carbon". Mr. MU Jundian, the director of Qingdao Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. John Christie, the director of Dunedin Economic Development Center attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Mr. ZHANG Yunqing, member of the Sino-German Ecopark Working Committee and the deputy director of the Management Committee, made a presentation on behalf of Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark (Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone).

·The park has introduced the German DGNB sustainable building certification system and the PHI passive house certification system to build new blocks of passive house and the first "Zero-Carbon Community" in China, which can reduce carbon emissions by about 80,000 tons per year after completion.

·It has successively been approved for Sustainable City and Human Settlements Award - Global Green City Award, China Habitat Environment Model Award, National Green Ecological Demonstration City, National Smart City Pilot Area, etc.

·Focus on "3 major industries". Expand the advantageous industries of intelligent manufacturing, develop emerging industries of integrated circuits, and lay out the future industries of gene technology. At present, 10 “Fortune 500”companies have invested and constructed 21 projects in the park, and more than 3,000 companies have registered in the park, with an output value of 40 billion yuan in 2021.

·Besides, There is an e-commerce economic and trade cooperation platform, and the trade volume in 2022 is expected to exceed 4.6 billion yuan. A number of humanities projects such as the Chinese Football School of Munich, Bayern and the Irmler International Piano Competition have been launched here.
